An Obama victory would be the first time since JFK that we had a hot president. I suppose Bill Clinton had some charm among hetero women, but, whatever… I want a commander in chief who is smokin’ by gay standards. We are a much better judge of male beauty. I have it on good authority that one of Obama’s first executive orders will be to reunite Charlie’s Angels to capture Osama bin Laden.

The Jena Project:is a remixed, visual analysis of online speech, as seen through a year’s worth of comment threads and discussions of photographs and video made by Michael David Murphy during last summer’s trials, protests, and marches for the Jena Six in Jena, Louisiana.A mixed-media project, The Jena Project pulls back the curtain on America’s “conversation on race”, while mapping language from an up-close (and often binary) street-level perspective.

Tizzy and cartoonish panic aside, I voted for Obama and Biden flawlessly. I voted for myself, my long-gone mother, grandparents, uncles, great-grands, great-great grands and all the way back to when my first Malian ancestor [and my first indentured English one] stepped on this land and was denied full human rights and who, never in their most liberating dreams, could imagine the day they could vote, let alone vote for a ticket that came close to illuminating their experience and struggle than Obama-Biden. Imperfect, of course. But certainly a beginning.

Vote for them all. Do not split the vote and give this race to the Republicans. Please vote Democratic now and organize left immediately afterwards. A vote for Obama is a vote to rejoin the community of civilized nations. Citizens: The time to exercise the “American freedoms” you tout is now. Conservatives: a vote for Obama is a vote for your income. Progressives: a vote for Obama is a vote to allow the children of BOLIVAR, MARTI and SANDINO space to breathe. Vote.

Vote because we are worth it. Vote because the porpoise will jump up in the Gulf and the salmon run thick in the Northwestern waters. Vote because people fought and died in the streets of the United States so you could work an eight hour day. Vote because their spirits deserve your respect and gratitude. Vote because you did not have to withstand the blast of a fire hose to register. Be glad and vote.
